This bed is adorable, and my boys love it. However, it is not terribly fun to assemble. For those of you reading through all the reviews, note that some of the other reviewers suggest using a power screwdriver, but if you read the paperwork with the bed, it clearly states that using power tools invalidates your warranty. Also, based on the quality of the screws included with the bed, I would think every screw would be stripped if you did use a power screwdriver. Had I known how bad the screws were before we started assembling the bed, we definitely would have gone and purchased better quality screws from the hardware store. The directions are okay if you like reading pictures with no words, but my husband and I were constantly commenting to each other that IKEA would have done a better job...particularly with the hex screwdrivers you have to use to connect the two sides of the roof. They bump into a support beam on the roof with each turn requiring you to take it out and reseat the screwdriver for each and every turn. The most annoying feature of the assembly is hands-down attaching the headboard and footboard. The headboard is quite heavy, and there is absolutely nothing to support it & keep it properly aligned while you attach it with 14 screws to the wood frame that has no pre-drilled holes. The footboard is lighter, but it has the same problem. Personally, I would also change the directions so that the front pieces with the windows were attached before the slats for the bed. That would allow you to get inside the frame to screw those front panels on, rather than trying to lean in thru the windows or door to awkwardly reach the screws. All in all, about 4 hours and 2 very irritated hands later, it's done and the kids are happy.My twins love, love, love these beds! No roll out issues like you would have with bunk beds and they look so cool. The color is more of a washed creamy/white Beachwood. You need to get the understorage drawers, they are long and tall and are great for toy storage & easy for the kids to pull out since they have wheels. The bed assembly could have been easier (comes in 3 boxes). You'll need an electric screwdriver. Box #3 is where the instructions are so start there then work your way to box 2 and then 1. The roof...the instructions are confusing. Just put the front left and right sections of the front of the bed that have window openings on first and secure it in with the screws, then put the roof on because the roof peak uses the front left and right sections to support the degree of the roof peak...otherwise you are just guessing and the roof has no support when you are installing it. The wood is sturdy and the design of the bed is awesome. My 3 year old twins are having a blast in them. I purchaaed signature sleep 8" mattresses for the beds and they work perfectly on them.My 3.5 year old son loves this bed! This was his first big boy bed. He loved his crib and with a little brother on the way, we needed something to move him to. He sleeps on his tummy with his backside leaning on the outside of the crib. This is why he needed an enclosed bed. This is pricey, but totally worth it. He did not do well with a toddler bed that was not as enclosed. I am a 5'6" woman, and I can climb in with him but the doorway is small. The stairs seem like they are not meant for an adult, so i don't use them but my son does well with them. He only struggles getting out in the middle of the night to pee.Took me half the day to put it together by myself but my daughter loves it. I reversed the layout too by simply drilling a few holes for the roof to go the other way. Good product, well made, no issues with defects or fitment.We love this bed. It took my husband and me about 2 hours to put together. The expression on my son's face was priceless. He is 3 years old and loving his new big-boy bed. Great bed. Great Price.We didn’t get All of his bed the end pieces were missing and a part was cracked . Really was not worth the money we paid for it.. was very disappointed.Quite a bit of assembly required — straight forward but extensive.
